RCA/Flyer_National_Night_Out-2011.pdf RCA/National_Night_Out-application-2011_rev7-14-11.pdf On Tuesday, August 2, 2011, the Rockville Community Alliance in conjunction with the Vernon Police Department, the Vernon Parks & Recreation Department, and the Vernon Community Network will be sponsoring National Night Out in downtown Rockville. Thousands of people attend this annual family oriented event. There will be free entertainment, free exhibits, free demonstrations and free food. National Night Out is celebrated in communities all across the USA that evening. To see more, go to www.rockvillect.org WE WOULD LIKE YOUR GROUP TO PARTICIPATE! We'll provide a 10 x 10 space for you to set up a booth to help you get your message out to the public. Many groups have brochures and give away little trinkets. Please bring your own tables, chairs, banners, etc. This is a free event--nothing is to be sold. Email NNO@RockvilleCommunityAlliance.com to obtain a Participation Form. The form can be downloaded, filled out and either scanned and e-mailed back to us or sent snail-mail. There is no cost to participate but many groups are providing a $25 donation and/or gift basket to be raffled off that night. The funds raised are used to help defray the costs of the event. Tru 2 Life This hip-hop duo from Hartford will perform from 5 to 5:30 pm. Since 2005, Tru 2 Life has performed at various events and at juvenile detention centers. The duo also teaches young people how to use and discover their artistic gifts. The group performed at JesusFest last year.
Deschamplain Brothers This Ellington band performs oldies from the 50s, 60s and into the 70s. They will be performing with vocals, keyboards, guitar and drums from 5:50 to 6:30 pm.
ETX The classic rock band from Manchester will perform from 7 to 8 pm. The group has been together since 1999, playing at community and Christian events across Connecticut, New York and Massachusetts. The six-person group includes vocals, keyboards, guitar, bass and drums. ETX performed at JesusFest last year.
